With the goal of strengthening cooperation and promoting industrial development between Nuevo León and Italy, the Governor of the State, Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda, held a meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Mexico, Alessandro Modiano.

The meeting took place in the Juárez Room of the Government Palace, where the governor and the European diplomat discussed topics related to Italian companies’ investment in Nuevo León, as well as the importance of working together in areas such as the economy, investment, and culture.

During the meeting, the Governor emphasized that Nuevo León has been the country’s industrial engine for years, a leader in attracting foreign investment and in economic development, which represents a strategic opportunity for Italian companies interested in expanding.

“Nuevo León has long been an industrial engine and, therefore, the leading recipient of foreign investment and the top-ranked economy. So, it makes perfect sense for sophisticated companies like those from Italy to come and invest,” he stated.

Samuel García also announced that both sides are discussing the possibility of finalizing a memorandum of understanding on economic and cultural matters, with the aim of strengthening the bilateral relationship and encouraging greater investment.

“We will be discussing a memorandum of understanding on economic and cultural matters, among many others. It is an honor to be partners with Italy and to see continued economic and investment flows from both countries, Mexico and Italy,” he stated.

The Governor was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Government, Miguel Ángel Flores Serna; the Secretary of Economy, Betsabé Rocha Nieto; and the Secretary of Culture, Melissa Segura Guerrero.

The Italian delegation included Valentina Valente, Counselor and Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Italian Embassy in Mexico; Emanuele D’Andrassi, Political and Press Counselor; and Roberto Caruso, Honorary Consul of Italy in Monterrey.
