The world of motorsports is once again in mourning. Federico González, a 17-year-old driver who participated in the NASCAR Mexico, lost his life on Monday, January 30th, after suffering a car accident. This was confirmed on their social networks by the competition itself.
“NASCAR México Series joins the grief of the Gutiérrez Family for the departure of our driver and friend Federico Gutiérrez Hoppe .” Fico, as he was known, was one of the most promising drivers in the competition, noted as one of those who would be a benchmark in Mexican motorsports in the coming years.
The traffic accident took place last Sunday, January 29, on the Toluca-Valle de Bravo highway toward Mexico City. Federico was with his brother, Max, who survived and is stable, aboard a Porsche when they collided with a truck, in which an 80-year-old man, a 65-year-old woman, and another 40-year-old were traveling.
The collision between the yellow sports car and the truck would have been frontal, with the vehicle in which Fico González was traveling taking the worst part, as its condition has been seen through the images published on networks social.
