The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, held a high-level meeting with Amazon executives in Arlington, Virginia. The meeting strengthened the collaboration between the state and the technology company, with a focus on bolstering the digital economy in North America.
During the presentation of its 2025 Economic Impact Report, Amazon highlighted that it has invested 145 billion pesos in Mexico, contributing 130 billion pesos to the GDP and generating 15,000 direct jobs. In addition, it has fostered 37,000 indirect and 11,000 induced jobs, consolidating its growth in the country.
The company announced additional investments of 2 billion pesos in 2025, reinforcing its national expansion. It also supported more than 27,000 Mexican SMEs, generating more than 52,000 additional jobs.
The company emphasized the importance of Nuevo León within Amazon’s logistics and operational network. Amazon has invested over 6 billion pesos in the state, generating 1,500 direct jobs, along with 2,000 indirect and 500 induced jobs. It also supports 2,300 local SMEs, which maintain an annual growth rate of 9%.
The state boasts a strategic geographic location, facilitating border connectivity, industrial strength, and a skilled workforce, making it a key hub for the expansion of logistics and technology infrastructure.
Amazon announced the implementation of specialized processes across the Colombia Bridge. The goal is to streamline cross-border trade operations, optimize logistics times, and increase customs efficiency. With this, Nuevo León aims to solidify its position as the most competitive e-commerce corridor between Mexico and the United States.
Samuel García recognized Amazon as a key ally in the state’s economic transformation. He emphasized that the collaboration fosters innovation, strengthens logistics infrastructure, and opens opportunities for families in Monterrey. The State Government reiterated its commitment to projects that strengthen competitiveness, attract investment, and promote sustainable growth.
Finally, both parties agreed to maintain ongoing coordination to advance initiatives that position Nuevo León as a key player in the digital economy, logistics, and industry in North America.
