Nuevo León Governor Says Four Billion Pesos Will Be Allocated in Loans for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses This Year
After inaugurating Expo PyME 2026, the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, highlighted the results that, he said, the state has achieved in various Inegi indicators and stated that industry and small and medium-sized businesses have contributed to keeping the state among the top-ranked entities.
Strengthening SMEs in Nuevo León
During his inaugural address, the state governor presented the actions that are part of the strategy to strengthen SMEs and maintain growth in the productive sector.
These include financing programs through Nafin and Bancomext, through which more than 10.896 billion pesos in loans have been granted to 4,300 companies.
He also highlighted the “Hecho en Nuevo León” program, which supports more than 4,000 local businesses, as well as “Cero Clausuras,” developed jointly with Caintra and other business chambers, whose objective is to prevent administrative obstacles that could hinder business operations.
Foreign Investment and Public Works Stand Out
García Sepúlveda stated that one of the components of Nuevo León’s economic strategy is attracting foreign direct investment.
As a second element, he mentioned investment in public works, stating that through federal, state, and municipal resources, Nuevo León has allocated 160 billion pesos to infrastructure over the past five years.
“We have done very well because with federal, state, and municipal investment, the state is now a record-holder in public works. Nuevo León, in these five years alone, we have invested 160 billion pesos in public works. So here I would like to pause to tell you how, from the government, we want to continue encouraging Nuevo León’s private sector to keep growing,” García Sepúlveda highlighted.
The governor maintained that these resources seek to create conditions for the private sector to continue growing in the state.
4 Billion Pesos in Loans to Be Allocated During 2026
As part of the actions planned for this year, the governor announced that 4 billion pesos in loans will be provided to small and medium-sized businesses.
This strategy is complemented by the digitalization of government services through the new Wallet Nuevo León, a digital wallet developed jointly with the Consejo Nuevo León and the Secretariat of Administration, through which various digital services will be available.
The Digital Service Window also remains in place, bringing together more than 300 digitized procedures and using a single file to reduce the administrative requirements that businesses must meet.
Caintra Highlights Reduction in Procedures
Caintra president Jorge Santos Reyna recognized the actions implemented by the Government of Nuevo León to facilitate business operations, particularly the Digital Service Window and the “Cero Clausuras” program.
Santos Reyna stated that these measures prioritize support and regularization rather than sanctions, with the objective of strengthening trust between authorities and the business sector.
The business leader also highlighted the role of SMEs in creating jobs, strengthening value chains, and driving the country’s productive activity.
“Supporting SMEs means supporting employment, social mobility, innovation, and economic development for our communities,” he stated.
Federal Government Seeks to Integrate SMEs Into Global Supply Chains
Expo PyME 2026 also featured the participation of Luis Rosendo Gutiérrez, Undersecretary for Foreign Trade of the Government of Mexico, representing Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard.
Through a video message, Ebrard congratulated the organizers of the event and emphasized that one of the priorities of his administration is to integrate Mexican small and medium-sized businesses into high-value global supply chains.
Among the sectors mentioned was the semiconductor industry, as part of the opportunities for SMEs to join new production chains.
