Parque Fundidora and Host City Monterrey FIFA 2026™ Present Social, Operational, Financial, and Security Report for the FIFA Fan Festival™ Monterrey

Parque Fundidora and Host City Monterrey FIFA 2026™ presented the social, operational, financial, and security balance of the FIFA Fan Festival™ Monterrey, jointly held from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

From its conception, the Fan Festival had a strong social focus: bringing the FIFA World Cup beyond the stadium and making it accessible to all sectors of the population.

In a World Cup context marked by the high costs of tickets, transportation, and lodging, free general admission allowed millions of Nuevo León residents to experience an official FIFA event that was safe, inclusive, and international in scale.

Nuevo León hosted only four World Cup matches, and none of them featured the Mexican National Team. Faced with this circumstance, Parque Fundidora and the Monterrey Organizing Committee for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ transformed four days inside the stadium into 39 days of a World Cup experience for the entire community.

The result was a turnout of more than 2.5 million attendees at the event in Parque Fundidora. Families, young people, and visitors were able to enjoy broadcasts of more than 90 matches of the tournament, in addition to sports, cultural, gastronomic, and entertainment activities.

The Fan Festival also became one of the main gathering points for the “Mexican wave” generated by the National Team. Although Mexico did not play in Nuevo León, fans made the space their own and kept the World Cup excitement alive throughout the tournament.

The program brought together more than 50 artists and talents, in addition to five major concerts headlined by Chayanne, Imagine Dragons, Grupo Firme, Enrique Iglesias, and Carín León.

Imagine Dragons drew more than 120,000 attendees, while Grupo Firme brought together approximately 150,000 people in a single day.

A financial model that recovered more than half of the investment

One of the main results of the FIFA Fan Festival™ Monterrey was its financial model.

The event represented a total investment of $492 million pesos, including VAT, executed through two contracts.

A total of $257.36 million pesos was recovered, equivalent to 52.3% of the total investment, through revenues generated by the event itself, sponsorships, and complementary contributions.

In other words, more than half of the FIFA Fan Festival™ Monterrey was paid for through its own revenue-generating capacity and financing associated with the event.

The resources were integrated as follows:

• $257.36 million pesos from premium areas, food and beverages, parking, Host City Monterrey, the Convention and Visitors Bureau, and other sources.

• $234.64 million pesos from Parque Fundidora’s own resources.

Thus, for every 100 pesos invested in holding the Fan Festival, 52.3 pesos were recovered or covered through event revenues and complementary sources, while 47.7 pesos corresponded to Parque Fundidora’s own resources.

This level of recovery had no precedent at any World Cup host city and constitutes an unprecedented success story.

For an event with free general admission, held over 39 days, with more than 2.5 million attendees, more than 90 matches broadcast, and five massive concerts, this level of recovery represents a success story in the organization and financial sustainability of large-scale public events.

The model made it possible to convert commercial revenues generated around the event into free public access, entertainment, social interaction, and an internationally scaled World Cup experience for millions of people.

Parque Fundidora’s contribution was made possible thanks to a management model developed starting in 2021 with the New Era of Parks of Nuevo León, through which the organization generates its own revenues from festivals, concessions, leases, and commercial strategies, and subsequently reinvests them in infrastructure, services, and public experiences.

The Fan Fest did not require extraordinary contributions or budgetary transfers from the State Central Government, meaning it represented zero cost for the State Central Government. With its own resources generated by Parque Fundidora, 47.7% of the event’s expenses were covered, without requiring extraordinary contributions or budgetary transfers from the State Central Government.

Additionally, without representing a monetary expenditure for Parque Fundidora, it received the rights corresponding to the Host City Supporter main sponsor category, which were used to promote the Nuevo León brand and the city of Monterrey globally, as well as the rights necessary to broadcast more than 90 matches of the tournament.

This balance corresponds exclusively to the FIFA Fan Festival™ Monterrey, promoted by Parque Fundidora and the Monterrey Organizing Committee for the FIFA World Cup 26™.

Transparency and Accountability:

With the administrative closure of the event already completed, Parque Fundidora is making the two contracts related to the organization of the FIFA Fan Festival™ Monterrey publicly available, along with the corresponding supplementary information about the event.

This information is being made available once the formal event-closing process has been completed and the corresponding contractual obligations have been fulfilled.

Clean Record and Security:

The operation concluded with a clean record and reaffirmed Parque Fundidora’s ability to manage massive gatherings with professionalism and high security standards.

Likewise, the State Government reported that Nuevo León was recognized as the second-safest host city of the World Cup internationally, behind only Boston.

These results were possible thanks to coordination among Parque Fundidora, the Monterrey Organizing Committee for the FIFA World Cup 26™, the Government of Nuevo León, the Federal Government, metropolitan municipalities, FIFA, soccer clubs, security agencies, Apodaca Group, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers, and thousands of workers.

The main legacy of the Fan Festival was to demonstrate that a public institution can generate resources, manage them responsibly, and return them to society in the form of access, social interaction, and shared experiences.

For 39 days, the World Cup left the stadium, and the FIFA Fan Festival™ Monterrey became the World Cup for the people of Nuevo León.
