In response to a wave of highway robberies targeting motorists traveling toward the United States, the state security force Fuerza Civil has announced the strategic deployment of mobile command units along critical northern routes in Nuevo León.
During a press briefing, Adolfo Flores Pader, head of the Fuerza Civil commissioner’s office, confirmed that the initial rollout includes two advanced mobile command centers positioned along the highways leading to Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa. These specialized units have been strategically set up at well-known tourist and traveler rest stops, specifically known as Los Ahijados and El Rancho.
Officials emphasized that these mobile hubs are equipped with cutting-edge technology and maintain a direct, real-time link to the state’s C5 intelligence and command infrastructure, alongside the Intelligence and Investigation Division. This technological integration allows for significantly faster response times, ensuring a rapid deployment of police personnel and units to provide immediate assistance to citizens and motorists requesting help in emergency situations.
The primary objective of this security initiative is to curb and ultimately eradicate carjackings and assaults affecting drivers navigating these busy international transit corridors. Furthermore, authorities noted that these measures coincide with ongoing seasonal holiday security deployments. The Roads Division of Fuerza Civil remains actively deployed across regional highways in close coordination with the National Guard, while the Territorial Division maintains a steady presence at major tourist checkpoints and rest areas. Law enforcement continues to implement convoy-style escort protocols to safeguard travelers right up to the state borders.
