Governor Samuel García confirmed that there will be free beer at some of the events taking place in Monterrey to celebrate the 2026 World Cup. In addition to hosting four matches, the capital of Nuevo León will feature parallel activities, such as the Fan Fest.
Free Beer to Be Given Away in Monterrey During the World Cup
As part of the World Cup 2026 festivities in Monterrey, the Government of Nuevo León will host a gastronomic and cultural exhibition at the Parque del Agua (Water Park)—one of the new developments near the Monterrey Stadium that is set to open soon.
The goal of this event—which runs parallel to the Fan Fest—is to provide fans with an option to pass the time before the match, regardless of whether they hold a ticket for the stadium or simply wish to enjoy the World Cup festivities.
“Come early—whether the game is at 8, 9, or 10 o’clock, arrive at 4 or 5. It’s right next to the stadium—within walking distance—just three minutes away via three different access points; you’ll be able to get a taste of Nuevo León,” said Samuel García.
One of the major attractions of the “Parque del Agua Pavilion: Culture and Tradition of Nuevo León” is that it will offer complimentary food tastings. Furthermore, beverages such as soft drinks and beer will be given away—yes, free beer.
“This is so that locals and tourists alike can sample the cuisine of Nuevo León. And not only that: Coca-Cola will be giving away soft drinks, and Grupo Modelo will be giving away beer… you’ll be able to enjoy brews, sodas, water, and food,” the governor stated.
In addition to the food and drinks, the Parque del Agua will feature an open-air cultural stage hosting a wide variety of musical performances; however—unlike the Fan Fest—the lineup will focus primarily on local groups.
When and Where Will Free Beer Be Given Away in Nuevo León? The inauguration of the Parque del Agua will take place on June 11—the same day the 2026 World Cup begins. According to information shared by the state government, the cultural event will be held from June 11 to June 19.
