The National Water Commission (Conagua) has alerted the northeastern region of the country, and of course Nuevo León, that rain, thunderstorms, and even hail of various sizes are forecast for Tuesday.
An additional detail that has surprised citizens is the existing probability of whirlwinds and tornadoes in this area of Mexico.
As part of a special advisory, the agency specified that these weather conditions would primarily affect northern and northeastern Coahuila, northern Nuevo León, and northeastern Tamaulipas.
It is expected to be a rainy week for Nuevo León.
The chances of rain will remain in Nuevo León for much of this week due to a combination of meteorological phenomena.
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) explained that this Tuesday, low-pressure channels are extending over the Northern Mesa, the center, and the southeast of the country, which will combine with a dry line over the north of the country.
In addition, moisture is forecast to enter the Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean Sea, along with a subtropical jet stream, which will bring heavy rain to northeastern Mexico.
Rain Recommendations
State Civil Protection urged the population to remain alert and follow the following recommendations for a day with a rainy forecast:
Do not attempt to cross flooded areas.
Avoid contact with power lines and poles.
Drive slowly and with flashing lights.
Stay in a safe place.
Finally, the agency urged the population to seek information only from official sources, including the National Water Commission (Conagua), which continuously monitors weather conditions in each region of the country.
