The federal deputy for Nuevo León and president of the Communications and Transportation Commission, Víctor Pérez Díaz, has proposed taking advantage of the recent assignment of the National Guard to the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) to strengthen security on the country’s roads.
Pérez Díaz highlighted the importance of effective coordination between state and municipal governments to address the insecurity that has resulted in loss of human life and material throughout the national territory.
During his participation in the Annual Meeting of Industrialists, organized by CONCAMIN in Cintermex, the legislator stressed that security on the roads is crucial for the transportation of inputs and products.
“This is what we must understand, all the inputs, what is consumed at home, everything travels on a road: it can travel by plane, but then you load it onto a truck; it can arrive by boat, but you load it onto a truck; so it is very important that security on the roads is taken care of, that coordination between all government bodies is taken care of,” said Pérez Díaz.
The deputy also emphasized the need for effective coordination between the National Guard, now under the SEDENA, and the state and municipal governments.
“Now that the National Guard has been assigned to the SEDENA, it must be put in very, very effective coordination with the state and municipal governments,” he added.
