More than 3 million pesos were stolen from an armored truck parked in a shopping mall in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon.
The incident occurred when the drivers of the unit got out to stock up on an ATM and on their way back found the truck’s door open.
A group of criminals stole 3.5 million pesos from a cash van that was parked in front of a shopping mall in the municipality of Santa Catarina.
The incident occurred in the plaza located on Avenida Colosio at its intersection with Pioneros de Rochdale, in the López Mateos neighborhood.
It was reported that the drivers of the unit got out to stock up on an ATM located inside the plaza and on their way back found the truck’s door open.
Upon checking, they noticed the theft of money, in bills of different denominations.
The cash van’s company belongs to Grupo Mercurio, according to information from authorities.
Agents from the State Investigation Agency arrived at the scene to begin the corresponding investigations and determine responsibilities in what could have been an “inside job.”
