Ministry of Economy exposes Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Garcia; and confirms that Tesla was not registered in Mexico
After the pause in the construction of the Gigafactory, the Secretary of Economy, Raquel Buenrostro, assured that Elon Musk’s company did not carry out any official registration.
After it was confirmed on July 23 of this year that the South African businessman Elon Musk had put on hold the construction of the Gigafactory based in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon due to the proximity of the elections in the United States, the reactions were not long in coming, especially from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
However, in addition to them, it has transpired that the current Secretary of Economy, Raquel Buenrostro, assured that the automotive company had not carried out any actions to register investments in the country officially.
Raquel Buenrostro categorically stated that Tesla has no official record with the Mexican government, only the announcements that were made, both in mass media and through the local government, in this case, specifically by Samuel García Sepúlveda, the current governor of Nuevo León.
