Backflows on the National Highway could be maintained all week

The Road Director urged motorists to circulate with caution, respect the signs and follow the instructions of the officers to avoid road incidents.

Monterrey.- Due to the Easter holidays, the Monterrey government announced that the backflow lanes on the National Highway could be extended depending on the vehicular influx.

The operation would be from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th April, indicated the director of Roads and Transit of Monterrey, Gerardo Gloria Juárez.

“We are carrying out various actions to speed up the road in this holiday season and one of the points to attend to is the National Highway,” he said.

Where is the backflow installed?

It is placed on Avenida Garza Sada, in direction from north to south, from Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. However, for Thursday and Friday it would operate from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to vent the traffic that leaves for the National Highway.

This backflows will begin by Las Fuentes avenue and will end in La Rioja, with a length of 4.4 kilometers.

In the afternoon, the same measure will apply on Avenida Garza Sada from south to north, from La Rioja to Parque Canoas, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a 5-kilometer route.

According to Gerardo Gloria, this operative is commonly installed only on weekends, but if necessary, it will also cover next Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, the Monterrey authorities will cancel the morning backflow on Paseo de los Leones Avenue on Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7, and will resume it on Monday, April 10, from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
