The FIFA Fan Festival Nuevo León concluded after 40 days of activities, recording a cumulative attendance of 2.5 million people. According to its organizers, it became the largest public event in the history of the state.
The festival was held at Parque Fundidora as part of the activities surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring live match broadcasts, concerts, interactive experiences, and activities for local, national, and international fans.
Attendance Equivalent to 10 Editions of Pa’l Norte
According to the Organizing Committee, the total number of attendees over the six-week festival was equivalent to approximately 10 editions of the Pa’l Norte music festival, reflecting the scale of the event held in Monterrey.
Throughout the festival, Parque Fundidora welcomed thousands of visitors each day who enjoyed the sports, cultural, and culinary programming organized alongside the World Cup.
In addition to broadcasting World Cup matches, the FIFA Fan Festival featured a lineup of performances led by J Balvin as part of the closing event of the Coca-Cola Trophy Tour. Other performers included Chayanne, Imagine Dragons, Grupo Firme, Enrique Iglesias, R3hab, DPR Ian, Jumbo, Caballo Dorado, Los Payasónicos, and Carín León, who closed the festival.
The program also included fan experiences, food areas, and family-friendly gathering spaces.
Organizers Highlight the Financial Model
The organizers reported that the festival was developed jointly by Parque Fundidora, the Monterrey Organizing Committee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Apodaca Group.
According to the project organizers, the event generated revenue through ticket sales, sponsorships, food and beverage sales, and other commercial activities. As a result, they stated that the festival did not represent a cost to the Central Government of the State.
The final financial report will be released after the reconciliation process for revenues and expenses has been completed.
Bernardo Bichara Assad, President of the State Coordinating Committee and Chairman of the Board of Parque Fundidora, stated that the festival successfully extended the World Cup experience beyond the stadium and highlighted the collaboration between public and private institutions.
Meanwhile, Monterrey’s FIFA Host City Manager, Alejandro Hütt Valenzuela, said that the model developed in Nuevo León could serve as a reference for future FIFA World Cup host cities.
Finally, Apodaca Group emphasized that organizing the festival represented one of the most significant social and operational projects in the company’s history.
