The rest area was improved with seating areas for enjoying the city views.

Hikers visiting Cerro de la Silla will find their experience enhanced thanks to the rehabilitation of the area known as the cable car or platform, where most visitors arrive to admire the panoramic view of the Monterrey Metropolitan Area.

What improvements were made to the Cerro de la Silla cable car?

The municipality of Guadalupe began phase two of the project to improve the natural area, which consisted of installing benches so that people can better enjoy the view and take a break after climbing more than three kilometers up Cerro de la Silla.

Benches were also placed along the path so that people who are climbing for the first time or who are not in good physical condition can rest for a while and, after a few minutes of recovery, resume their hike.

On social media, hikers shared photos of the initial renovations to the area, which, in addition to benches, included the installation of a railing around the platform to prevent accidents, as well as structural reinforcement.

These improvements aim to enhance the appearance of this iconic Nuevo León landmark, presenting a positive image to national and international tourists who venture to climb it, after years of neglect.

Access to Cerro de la Silla (Saddle Mountain) has been rehabilitated to offer a fresh look to visitors of Nuevo León’s most emblematic tourist destination, especially now that the state will host the 2026 World Cup and thousands of international visitors are expected to flock to its recreational areas.

The Municipality of Guadalupe carried out the rehabilitation work to improve the entrance that marks the beginning of the trail to the area known as the cable car or the antenna, which offers a breathtaking view of the Monterrey Metropolitan Area.

The phase consisted of the construction of public restrooms, the creation of a vehicle exit lane, the rehabilitation of an arched booth, the rehabilitation of a plaza, the construction of a sculpture space, the construction of a walkway, and the installation of benches, garbage containers, and LED lighting.
