Samuel García visited Equinix’s DC12 data center in Ashburn, Virginia, considered one of the world’s most important digital infrastructure regions.
The company, valued at $90 million, highlighted its strategy for the global ecosystem: The key statistic is that 75% of global internet traffic flows through data centers in that area, and approximately 95% of the global internet is interconnected via Equinix infrastructure.
The company reaffirmed that Nuevo León forms a strategic alliance in the organization’s expansion. Since 2020, Equinix has invested more than $500 million in the country, driving the arrival of technology companies, the creation of more than 260,000 jobs, and an estimated annual economic impact of $12.5 billion.
Equinix also noted the inauguration of its second data center in Nuevo León, representing a total investment of $189 million and generating at least 150 jobs per facility. These expansions strengthen connectivity between Mexico and the United States.
Equinix showcased its capabilities to the Government of Nuevo León in the areas of cybersecurity, sustainability, and energy efficiency. It is worth noting that these capabilities have positioned the organization as a global leader in tech infrastructure.
Samuel García emphasized that this alliance is key for Nuevo León to become the most important technology hub in Latin America, focused on innovation, data management, and sustainable technologies. He also reiterated the commitment to continue collaborating to promote projects that strengthen the state’s position in the economy and the digital world.
