Alfonso Meza reported that the candidate, who had already passed the filters for the judicial election, was arrested in 2023 in possession of 15 bags of a substance with the characteristics of crystal, in addition to having a firearm in his possession.
The arrest would have been by local police and agents of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Nuevo León (FGJNL). In this operation, two other men were also arrested, who allegedly tried to escape from the authorities.
“The three were linked to the process for methamphetamine drug dealing. Humberto Padilla is a candidate for criminal judge on the list of the Legislative Branch, the one that Noroña has boasted so much in recent months,” it was shared.
The Evaluation Committee of the Legislative Branch would have already evaluated the profiles of each of the candidates for a position in the Judicial Branch.
Among the requirements that were requested for those candidates, was to have a good reputation, that is, with zero criminal records.
Once the case was exposed, users on social networks questioned the effectiveness of filters in elections.
